Wild in the City®  Outdoor Skills Day Camp for Youth 6-16

Welcome to Wild in the City®, the Arizona Elk Society's exciting Outdoor Skills Day Camp designed for youth aged 6-16. Priced at only $25 per participant, this program offers exceptional value for parents. This unique program is crafted to introduce young minds to the wonders of the outdoors, providing an immersive experience in outdoor skills, wildlife conservation, and volunteerism.

Program Overview: Wild in the City® is conducted 2-3 times a year, welcoming youth, scout troops, and any kids eager to explore the world of outdoor activities. Our day camps are an excellent opportunity for youngsters to gain exposure to various outdoor skills, fostering a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife.

What to Expect: During this one-day program, participants will engage in a variety of activities, including:

• Archery: Learn the basics of archery, developing precision and focus.
• Wildlife Identification: Discover the diverse flora and fauna of the region.
• Track Making: Explore the art of tracking and interpreting animal signs.
• Owl Pellet Dissection: Delve into the fascinating world of owl biology through hands-on dissection.
• Firearm Safety and Shooting: In a supervised setting, participants will learn about firearm safety and have the opportunity to shoot pellet guns and .22 rifles.
• Horsemanship: Gain basic horsemanship skills and connect with these magnificent animals.
• Wildlife Calling: Learn the art of wildlife communication and observation.
• Wilderness Survival: Learn how to make a survival bracelet and what it’s used for and also how to start a fire with a flint & steel tool.
• Fishing: Feel the excitement of catching a fish and feeling that tug on the line.  Our experienced mentors are there to help!

Our goal at the Arizona Elk Society is to ignite a passion for the outdoors in young boys and girls. By offering Wild in the City in the greater Phoenix area we aim to create a lasting impact on the next generation, instilling a love for nature, camping, fishing, conservation and more.

What's Included: For just $25, each participant receives:

• 6 Lessons: Comprehensive and hands-on lessons covering a range of outdoor skills.
• Lunch: A nutritious and delicious meal provided during the day.
